Paper Plate ‘Endurance’

I created this simple making project to coincide with the expedition to locate the wreck of Shackleton’s ship HMS Endurance. It’s a really simple way of creating a boat or ship and could easily be adapted for other topics or stories. Many thanks to The Royal Geographical Society for asking me to be a part of their ‘Endurance22’ project.

This artwork was made using just one paper plate and a couple of paper straws, making it easy to recycle. I used basic watercolour paints to add the colour and then a regular biro and a black fine-liner pen to add the rigging and details.
