Project formats

School based projects usually fall into two categories…

1 - Classroom Based

Schools book me to work with a particular class or year group and I spend the time with them and their class teacher creating either individual or group work based on a chosen theme or starting point.

2 - Team Projects

I set up somewhere suitable and smaller groups of children come out one group at a time to add to a larger, more complex piece of work.

* This works particularly well with younger children and those with additional needs who might want to dip in and out of the process.

For Museums, Theatres and Events the workshops also follow two basic formats . . .

1 - Make and Take

The participating children make their own individual artwork to take home with them. I usually keep these ideas simple with maybe three or four different stages and often I make examples of these stages for the children to see.

2 - Drop-in and Join-in

I create one large sculptural piece sometimes broken down into different sections which are reassembled later. Visitors join in for as long as they like and add to what’s already being created. The final piece is then displayed at the venue or photos of it are posted online so that participants can view the outcomes there.

Staff Training Sessions

I also provide staff training sessions for Schools, Universities and other educational establishments. These are usually ‘hands on’ skills based sessions and can be tailored to suit different age groups and audiences.

Personal Projects

I do occasionally get asked to make models or sculptures myself for exhibitions, events and displays. If this is something that you are interested in please do contact me to discuss this further.
